For this production of Daughter of the Regiment, presented at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in the Steinmetz Theater, I held the title of Associate Costume Designer + Wardrobe Supervisor. My duties included: renting costumes for 40+ artists, shopping for costume pieces, hosting fittings with performers, hand crafting costumes and performing alterations, as well as running the show and multiple quick changes.
Opera Orlando is in the army now, as it closes its Opera Everlasting MainStage series with Donizetti’s hilarious The Daughter of the Regiment. Enjoy this family-friendly tale about Marie, the eponymous “daughter” of the regiment. She was orphaned as an infant, but miraculously adopted and raised by a French army regiment not knowing of her noble birthright.
