Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play

I was asked to costume design and fabricate for this incredible show (if you haven’t heard of it, here’s a link to a very well done version on YouTube)!

For Act 1, the design consisted of thrifted clothing and what we had in stock. Act 2 transitions deeper into the apocalypse so we needed more ratty clothing, combined with handmade head pieces to represent the Simpsons characters. I created those imagining that the characters would have made them with whatever pieces they could scavenge around for, thus the troll doll in Marge’s hair! Act 3 was where I had the most fun- I decided to hand make Grecian inspired Simpsons masks, making sure they looked like they were made by the characters. I wanted them to look as warped and cryptid as possible.
